Dr. Yolanda White is a licensed school psychologist in Florida and Arizona who specializes in supporting children and adolescents as they develop the academic, behavioral, and emotional skills necessary for success in school and in life. She has extensive experience conducting comprehensive assessments, providing counseling, and designing evidence‑based behavioral interventions for a wide range of learning, developmental, and mental health needs.
Grounded in a neurological and brain‑based approach, Dr. White helps students and families understand how the brain works, how stress and emotions influence learning, and how specific cognitive processes, such as attention, memory, and executive functioning, shape daily functioning. She integrates neuroscience, child development, and practical skill‑building to empower students to use their strengths, strengthen their weaker systems, and develop lifelong tools for self‑regulation and resilience.
Dr. White is committed to delivering high‑quality, culturally responsive services to children, families, and schools. She strives to create an environment that is safe, welcoming, and supportive, and she serves as a strong advocate for her clients across educational and community settings. Her passion for helping children reach their full potential drives her dedication to staying current with the latest research and evidence‑based practices.
Dr. White earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. She received a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University and later completed her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) with a specialization in School Psychology at Capella University. She has worked in education for more than 15 years, teaching and serving students in both public and private K–12 settings. Her professional experience includes supporting children and families from diverse backgrounds, including youth in residential facilities, teen mothers, and children with incarcerated parents.
Dr. White is married to The Reverend Markus‑Derek White and is the proud mother of three boys, two of whom have ADHD. Her personal and professional experiences fuel her deep commitment to ADHD advocacy and education. She is especially passionate about helping students understand the anatomy and function of their brains so they can better navigate attention, behavior, and learning challenges with confidence and self‑awareness.
